Hi dears! I'm Kylie. I teach people how to like themselves and practice sublime self-care. Welcome.

social magic links

(Get it? Links! And the photo is of a chain link fence! I should probably stop making puns so you keep reading.)

. . .

There are some truly excellent bloggers who have written on the subject of being introverted or on the intricacies of becoming more social. This here is a list of some favorite posts that have already helped me as I’ve begun my Month of Social Magic. I’m completely open to more social-related resources, so if you know someone who’s written about this subject eloquently (or if that someone is you), do let me know.

The Introvert’s Guide to Spontaneous Departures. Oh, heavens. Kelly writes good stuff. And in such a fanciful way. This post makes social gatherings less daunting for us introverts, because it reminds us that we can leave when we need to. It also tells us the best way to go about doing that.

The Secret to Becoming Fearless by Patty K. This post is actually one of the things that started me thinking about doing this month of being social.

Bridget Pilloud on Wooing the Room. Parts One and Two.

15 Ways to Make a Righteous First Impression.  These are some fantastic ideas that I think we introverts could apply subtly, while extroverts might really run with them.

How to Create an Amazing Group of Friends, from travel and social extraordinaire Sara Von.

It’s Not Over ‘Til You’re Cold and Dead. How’s that for a title? This one isn’t specifically about being social, but it is about taking risks and realizing the power you have to change things.

. . .

And with that, it’s time for me to go solidify my weekend plans. I’ll be back next week with updates on my trials, tribulations and (hopefully) big, huge successes. Hugs and smooches.

Glad you found my post edifying, Ms. Springman! I look forward to watching your ‘social butterfly metamorphosis’ spiral outta control! In a good way. :)

    Hey Kylie
Clicked through all the links – awesome stuff!
I’ve made the same pledge to be more social. I really *do* love connecting with people and London is such a fab place for doing so, yet I can go for weeks without meeting up with friends or actually going to one of the many events penned into my diary (and potentially meeting new ones).
    Love Sara Von’s post.
Looking forward to hearing about your magicing ;) x

    Claire: No problem, dear!

Alexandra: Yup yup. It was pure gold, dahling. The metamorphosis is gonna be outta control. I can already feel it.

Nats: Splendid! We can be across-the-Atlantic comrades in the social cause. And then when I’m in London or you’re in NY, we can be social together. How’s that for mind-blowing?

Patty: Thank you. I super duper appreciate your support. And you’re entirely deserving of the company you’re keepin’.
