fun friday! negotiation, stamps, and autumn excitement

Wild animals on the loose!

For today’s fun, frivolous Friday, I thought we might stroll through some links. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t had the chance to do too much internet reading lately. Not that that’s a bad thing. But there are some good things out there! Let’s take a look:

. . .

Tomorrow’s the first day of fall here in the Northern Hemisphere (YAY!), and I loved this fabulous Autumn To-Do List from Yes and Yes (especially the one about thanking a past teacher).

LOVE: “I was a girl who loved to negotiate without apology. It wasn’t simply that I was audacious (which I was)—I also recognized my own intrinsic value and acknowledged my strengths as a leader, a relationship builder, and a problem solver.”

Sweet Fine Day shared a list of great restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. I’m proud to say I’ve visited lots of ‘em, and I concur with Jenna’s picks.

So Amy Poehler is awesome. She has some solid advice for improving your body image, too.

Emilie is starting to do live speaking! I’m always so inspired by her braveness in trying new things, and I’m rooting for her big time.

Rachel Rabbit White talked to Dan Savage about sex cultures on various college campuses. I was most interested in Savage’s observations of male beauty standards at different schools.

Elise has created some very fun stamps.

My newest website obsession is Young House Love. Especially the super-impressive redesigns they feature.

Tea talks about morning rituals, in which tea (the kind you drink) makes a regular appearance. As a friend of hers says, “Tea is the way forward.” I love that.

Mindy Kaling has been everywhere lately, which is awesome for many reasons. Here’s an article about the inevitable backlash against a woman of color doing things in public.

. . .

And with that, I shall sign off. A happy weekend to you all!

Wendy: You’re welcome! I know; isn’t that fun? I love houndstooth, and this is such a fun, playful take on it.
